What is Cabin air filter?
Cabin air filter, which is a key component of a vehicle’s heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. This filter is designed to improve the air quality inside the vehicle by filtering out various airborne contaminants.

The cabin air filter purifies the air before it enters the cabin. The filter effectively blocks pollutants in the air, thereby improving passenger comfort, preventing pollen allergies and eye irritation, and ensuring that the driver remains highly focused.

Standard Filters
Particles as small as a few microns are filtered by means of attracting pollutants by electrostatically charged fibres. Synthetic fibres are not very hygroscopic, which means water does not cause cabin filters to deform. The filtration barrier in the cabin filters is made of fully synthetic non-woven fabric.

Activated Carbon Filters
The advantage of activated carbon filters is that they trap not only solid particles, but also harmful gases such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and ozone. Through adsorption, activated carbon adsorbs unpleasant odours, preventing them from entering the cabin from the outside.

Key functions and benefits of a cabin air filter:
Filtration: It helps eliminate dust, pollen, gases, diesel soot, tire dust, and other harmful bacteria and particulate matter from entering the cabin.
Airflow and Odor Control: A clean filter ensures proper air flow through the climate control system. A dirty or old filter can lead to reduced airflow and persistent bad or musty odors.
Health: By trapping particulates, these filters provide cleaner air for enhanced respiratory health for the vehicle’s occupants.
Maintenance: Cabin air filters should be checked at least once a year or typically replaced every 12,000 to 15,000 miles to maintain optimal performance.
